Police Seek to Identify Man Found Dead on North Shore Beach

Police working to identify a deceased male located on the North Shore this evening are seeking help from the public to identify him.

Emergency services were called to the northern end of Saint Leonards Beach about 5:45pm today to reports of a body in the water.

He was pulled from the water by a member of the public and CPR was attempted but sadly the male was pronounced dead on the beach.

He appears of Asian descent, aged 40-50, possibly early 60s, and has a bald, possibly shaven, head.

He is of medium build, no facial hair, and was not wearing any shoes.

The man was wearing blue jeans with a bike tyre inner-tube as a belt. He also wore a dark polo shirt with thin light-coloured horizontal stripes.

The man was wearing a pair of blue and green swimming goggles, and he has no obvious marks, scars or tattoos.

Work is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the man's death, but our first priority is to identify the man.
