A beloved classic will come to life in Echuca Moama this summer as Wonderland on the Murray brings Alice in Wonderland to the river's edge in a spectacular sand sculpture trail, running from 13 December 2025 to 9 March 2026.

Jointly delivered by Murray River Council, Campaspe Shire Council and Campaspe Port Enterprise (Port of Echuca), the trail will be crafted by Sandstorm Events, transforming public spaces into a captivating family adventure through a series of large-scale handcrafted sand installations.

The journey will begin at the historic Port of Echuca, where visitors will see Alice tumble down the rabbit hole into a world of wonder, before continuing through the Port and Aquatic Reserve with eight sculptures depicting iconic moments and characters from the timeless tale.

Crossing the Murray River into Moama, the trail will conclude at Kerrabee Reserve, where Alice's Tea Party, set inside the Soundshell, will mark the magical finale to her adventure.

Featured installations along the trail will include:

  • Alice falling down the rabbit hole
  • The Caterpillar and Cheshire Cat
  • The White Rabbit's House
  • Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum
  • The White Rabbit on his way to the tea party
