'egg-citing' Line Up Of Activities In Store Over Easter

With Easter fast approaching, Wagga Wagga City Council assures residents and visitors there will be plenty of free and fun activities at our facilities in the lead-up to, and over the long weekend.

Our Botanic Gardens Zoo and Aviary, Museum of the Riverina, Art Gallery and Oasis Aquatic Centre will operate on holiday opening hours from Friday 3 April.

The Easter activities hop into action at the library from Tuesday 31 March, with the Baby Bounce - Easter Special.

"It's time to dust off those bunny ears and dress up for some Easter themed songs and bounces in the Children's Area downstairs at 10.30am," Library Services Manager Christine Bolton said.

"It will be followed by a special Easter Storytime in the Park on Wednesday 1 April, and again, we're encouraging participants to raid their dress-up box and come along to the Victory Memorial Gardens.

"We will have picture books, songs, and some special Easter-themed activities from 10.30am to 11.30am. If it's raining, it will be held in the Library's Children's Area instead."

The library will be closed from Friday 3 April until Monday 6 April, however eLibrary resources will remain available 24/7.

Our beautiful Botanic Gardens is a great spot to visit over the long weekend, particularly if the weather is nice.

Team Leader Parks Operations (Botanic Gardens) Jonathon Nicoll says you can wander through the range of themed gardens or drop into the Zoo and Aviary and say 'g'day' to the furred and feathered residents.

"Our zoo curators will be holding meet and greet sessions on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings, where you can enjoy an up-close encounter with the animals," Mr Nicoll said.

"You can also take a walk around the zoo at your own pace to see our dingoes, kangaroos, and emus, camels, reptiles, birds, and farm animals."

The Zoo will be closed on Good Friday, but open between 9am and 4pm for the rest of the long weekend.

In the city centre, our Art Gallery will also be open from Easter Saturday to Easter Monday. Don't miss the last chance to experience the Autumn Exhibition Series, which features line-up of Australian contemporary artists alongside significant works from the National Art Glass Collection.
