Eight injured in boat fire at Brooklyn

Eight people have suffered burns after a boat fire on the Hawkesbury river in Sydney's north this afternoon.

About 5.10pm (Sunday 4 April 2021), emergency services were called to a marina off Dangar Road at Brooklyn, after reports of a boat fire.

Police, ambulance and firefighters attended. The blaze was extinguished; however, the boat was destroyed.

Eight people reportedly suffered varying burns. They are being treated by paramedics and transported to Royal North Shore, Westmead and Gosford hospitals.
