Eighth Charged in Lake Illawarra Drug Bust

An eighth person has been charged as part of an ongoing alleged drug supply investigation in the Illawarra.

In October 2025, detectives attached to Lake Illawarra Police District established Strike Force Yetna to investigate the alleged supply of prohibited drugs by criminal networks in the Illawarra.

About 7.50am on Thursday 22 January 2026, police executed a search warrant at a home on Farmborough Road, Farmborough Heights. Police seized cocaine, $14,500 cash and a notebook which police will allege in court was a drug ledger. The man was not at home at the time.

On the same day, police executed search warrants at seven other locations across the Lake Illawarra Police District resulting in the arrest and charge of six people, who remain before the courts.

On Friday 30 January 2026, a seventh person was arrested and charged and remains before the courts.

About 8am yesterday (Sunday 28 February 2026), a 22-year-old man was arrested at Sydney airport.

He was taken to Mascot police station and charged with supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to commercial quantity and recklessly deal with proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 7 today (Monday 9 October 2026).
