On behalf of the United States of America, I convey my heartfelt congratulations to the people of El Salvador as they celebrate their Independence Day.
This year marks the 202nd anniversary of El Salvador's independence. On this special occasion, I am reminded of the family ties that bind our peoples together so closely, and of the important relationship between our governments. We appreciate this opportunity to renew our bonds of friendship and cooperation based on mutual respect and shared values.
I send my best wishes to the people of El Salvador this and every September 15.
