Elderly Woman Dies After Serious Crash - Blakehurst

An elderly woman has died in hospital after a serious crash in Sydney's south last weekend.

About 2.30pm on Saturday 5 July 2025, emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, north of Tom Ugly's Bridge, Blakehurst, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to St George Police Area Command attended and found a sedan and a SUV had collided head on.

The driver of the SUV – a 44-year-old man – and passenger – a 13-year-old boy – were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the sedan – and sole occupant – an 87-year-old woman – was trapped before being released by Fire and Rescue NSW.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

About 8pm on Wednesday 9 July 2025, police were notified the woman had died in hospital.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash continues.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
