Councillor Sarah Ndiaye is the new Deputy Mayor of the Byron Shire Council.
The election was held at the September Council meeting.
Councillor Ndiaye was the sole nominee for the position.
Ms Ndiaye will serve as Deputy Mayor for the remainder of this Council term.
