Electoral Matters Committee to hold public hearing at Old Parliament House

The Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters will hold a public hearing at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House on Friday, 29 June 2018.

The hearing is part of the Committee’s inquiry into the 2016 Federal Election and its review of the AEC’s Annual Report 2016-17.

The Australian Tax Office, the Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, and the Australian Electoral Commission will be appearing as witnesses.

Committee Chair Senator Linda Reynolds said the committee had already gathered a good deal of information since the inquiry began in September 2016.

"The committee is continuing to meet with Australians and a wide-range of organisations to explore issues arising from the conduct of the 2016 federal election before concluding our deliberations and reporting back to Parliament later this year," Senator Reynolds said.
