Updates to the data

Industry classifications for some of the ECT data provided to Stats NZ changed beginning from the June 2024 month. The June 2025 release includes updated data to the ECT series, extending back to January 2017, based on the change in classifications.

This update reflects improvements in how we classify and allocate data across industries, following information received since June 2024. As part of this work, we have made changes to how data, previously not published, are now allocated within the ECT series. All the ECT series have been updated as a result of this methodology improvement.
