Emergency crews responding to fatal house fire - Bankstown

A body has been located inside a home following a fire in Sydney's south west this morning.

About 6.30am (Saturday 16 July 2022), emergency services were called to a house on Ogmore Circuit, Bankstown, after reports of a house on fire.

The blaze was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW, and a body was located inside.

The body is yet to be formally identified.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
