An investigation is underway after a body was found following a house fire in the state’s south.
About 8.50am (Monday 22 July 2019), emergency services were called to a house on Jerrawa Road, Dalton, about 35km north east of Yass, following reports of a house fire.
NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze; however, the house was destroyed.
Once the fire was extinguished, the body of an adult was located inside.
The body is yet to be formally identified.
Officers from The Hume Police District established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist forensic officers.
