Emergency crews responding to fatal house fire - Mount Druitt

Emergency services remain at the scene of a fatal fire in Sydney's west.

Just after 1am (Wednesday 2 October 2019), emergency services were called to a townhouse on O'Brien Street, near Carlisle Avenue, Mount Druitt, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze, but the house sustained extensive damage.

The body of a man was located inside and is yet to be formally identified.

No other injuries have been reported.

Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
