Police are investigating a fire which destroyed a building at Ridleyton.
About 4.30pm on Thursday 1 January, police and MFS responded to reports of a fire at the rear of a vacant premises on South Road near Hawker Street.
Firefighters fought the blaze for almost an hour which unfortunately spread to a neighbouring premises. The vacant workshop was completely destroyed in the blaze while the neighbouring house sustained severe fire damage.
Fire Cause Investigators attended the scene and the fire is being treated as suspicious.
Southbound lanes on South Road at Ridleyton were blocked while emergency services responded to the fire along with Hawker Street.
