Emergency crews responding to fire in apartment building basement, South Australia

Police are investigating a fire in a city apartment building in the early hours of this morning.

Police, paramedics and fire crews responded to fire alarms activating at an apartment building on North Terrace, Adelaide, near Frome Street, just after 5am on Monday 16 May.

A fire was located in the basement and quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Residents had self-evacuated and there were no reported injuries.

Crime scene investigators are attending this morning.
