Emergency crews responding to house fire, Mount Isa

Police have charged three teens following investigations into a house fire at Pioneer, Mount Isa which occurred early yesterday morning.

Around 4.40am, emergency services were called to a blaze at an address on George Street.

The residents of the property were not home at the time of the fire and as a result of police have since identified and apprehended three juveniles.

A 16-year-old Sunset girl has been charged with one count of arson, she has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

A 13-year-old Townview girl has been charged with one count of arson, she will appear before the Mount Isa Childrens Court at a later date.

A 12-year-old Kelso girl has been charged with one count of arson, she has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

A crime scene which was initially declared upon police arrival continues to remain in place.

Investigators urge anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area to contact police.
