Emergency declaration at Margate

Police have declared an emergency situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act due to an ongoing situation in Keenan Street, Margate.

Police will be moving to houses through the night to evacuate residents, however anyone residing within the designated emergency area is asked to stay indoors unless otherwise asked by a police officer.

The boundaries of the zone are; Duffield Road (south), Dover Road (east), Boyce Street (north) and Ada Street (west).

Police will provide further information when possible.
