On 24 June, ESCWA, UNDESA and WHO co-organized a forum on "Enabling SDGs through Inclusive, Just Energy Transitions", as part of the Ministerial-level Thematic Forums held with the participation of key stakeholders to mobilize actions ahead of the High-level Dialogue on Energy in September 2021.
In her intervention, ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti stressed the need for policymakers and businesses to take immediate measures towards an inclusive and just transition in order to safeguard the well-being and prosperity of future generations.
The forum also featured the official launch of a report on energy transitions, which highlights the opportunities and guidelines to a global roadmap on achieving SDG7 by 2030 and meeting the Paris Agreement objectives.
ESCWA also co-organized multiple panels and side events on the sidelines of the Ministerial Forums targeting inclusive energy transitions.
