Enhancing CFA's induction experience

Planning on recruiting a new staff member soon? If so, you'll notice some changes to CFA's Induction Program.

Enhancing CFA's induction experience

Welcome to CFA - all new employees will receive a welcome postcard as part of their digital pre-commencement welcome pack

Identified as a key initiative in the 2018-2019 CFA Plan, our enhanced induction program will create a more welcoming experience; build a knowledgeable, supportive and safe culture and assist new staff and volunteers to more smoothly transition into CFA.

"Recent survey results have emphasised the need for us to provide new starters with more guidance, support and training opportunities" said Garry Cook, Acting Executive Director People and Culture.

Informed by feedback from staff and volunteers about their induction experiences, the revised CFA Induction Program incorporates enhancements to both content and processes.

Belinda Lowing and Jane Hudson, who are job sharing the role of Executive Manager Organisational Development, said the improvements to a new starter's induction experience are focused on providing a consistent approach, reducing manual processes, clarifying responsibilities and enhancing the information and support provided throughout the induction program.

The Induction Journey Pocket Guide provides an overview of CFA's induction experience for new employees and volunteers

Hiring managers and Brigade Management Teams will receive better guidance on their induction responsibilities and more resources to assist them to successfully support the induction process. New starters will have access to a wider range of information and learning materials which will enable them to better understand our organisation and set them up for success in their role.
