The realignedtrail leads walkers away from the main vehicle access corridor for the parkalong Namatjira Drive, providing a more remote experience and stunning views ofthe Chewings Range.

The upgradesalso include three new camp shelters at Ellery Creek, Ormiston Gorge andRedbank Gorge. The shelters feature interpretive signage and provide walkerswith access to water tanks and toilets.

As stated byMinister for Tourism, Sport and Culture, Lauren Moss:

These upgradesto the Larapinta Trail have supported local jobs and will attract new andreturn visitors to the region.

The upgradescomplement the Territory Labor Governments $21.3 million Turbocharging Tourisminvestment in parks infrastructure in Central Australia.

We invested inthe Larapinta upgrades after listening to feedback from walkers, and now thereis more room for them to spread out and experience this phenomenal Territorywilderness.

This will makethe experience far more enjoyable and memorable, and research showsword-of-mouth recommendations about memorable experiences are one of the bestforms of advertising.
