While most division one winners pop champagne or book a lavish dinner, an Epsom man is keeping it simple, opting to celebrate his $627,000 TattsLotto windfall with a quiet cup of tea alongside his beloved wife.
The Bendigo resident held one of 10 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4579, drawn Saturday 7 June 2025, and looks forward to $627,568.96.
"Thank you very much! It's so exciting," he shared when we confirmed his win.
"My wife and I have spent the morning talking about what we should spend it on or give it away to.
"We're retired now, and our priorities have changed. If you had asked me what I'd planned to do with this prize 30 years ago, it would be very different.
"I think we will help some of our overseas relatives with the prize.
"In the meantime, I will celebrate with a cup of tea with my wife."
His winning 36-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Epsom Lotto & Gifts, Shop 12 Village Epsom, 16-40 Howard Street, Epsom.
Epsom Lotto & Gifts owner Chris Trowell said he was stunned to have sold another division one winning entry less than three months after the last one.
"My first reaction was, 'Wait, what! We've done it again?!'. Our customers will be gobsmacked, like us!" he exclaimed.
"Our last division one winner was on 22 March, and we're so pleased to have done it again.
"Since opening in 2014, we've had a knack for selling winning tickets - three division one wins in our first two years! Now, nine years later, we've added two more wins just 11 weeks apart.
"With history on our side, we're hopeful number six isn't far off!
"We'd love to extend our congratulations to our customer and hope they enjoy their prize!"
