Police are appealing for witnesses following multiple reports of a vehicle driving erratically on the Eastern Freeway on Sunday evening.
It is alleged the white Hino tipper truck was observed travelling at speed, drifting across lanes and driving in the emergency lane on the freeway in the vicinity of Bulleen Road about 8pm on Sunday 10 February.
The car was allegedly seen travelling through Nunawading and Mitcham before being intercepted on the Maroondah Highway about 8.15pm.
The 45-year-old Lilydale man was interviewed and released pending further enquiries.
