Escape from Beaver Creek Institution - Minimum security unit

On July 28, 2019, at about 3:30p.m., thanks to the vigilance of staff members, it was discovered that Gordon Putnam, a minimum-security inmate at Beaver Creek Institution, was not accounted for.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Ontario Provincial Police and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Gordon Putnam is 56 years old, measures 168 cm in height and weighs 82 kg (181 lbs). He has a fair complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. He is currently serving a sentence of six years for Break, Enter and Commit - Theft over (x5).

Anyone who as information on the whereabouts of Gordon Putnam is asked to contact the police.

CSC will investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident and is working with police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all information available to help arrest the inmate.
