Escape lawful custody at Rockhampton

Rockhampton police have released images in an appeal for information in relation to a 23-year-old male prisoner who absconded from a Rockhampton Hospital this morning.

Emergency services were called to the Canning Street medical facility at The Range at approximately 9.10am, to reports Barry Bloomfield (pictured) had left the facility on foot.

He was last seen in a green jumper and shorts, with no shoes and had removed his handcuffs. He also had a bandage on his right hand.

Police immediately launched a search of the area utilising foot and vehicle patrols and dog squad.

Investigations and search efforts remains ongoing, police appeal to anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to urgently come forward.

He is described as First Nations, approximately 176cm tall with a proportionate build, black hair and facial hair, with tattoos on his chest, forearms, hands and left leg.

Anyone who may see the man is urged not to approach him and to immediately call Triple Zero (000).
