ESF Scholarship nominations now open

ESF Scholarship nominations now open

Executive Director Bushfire and Safer Togther DCO Alen Slijepcevic and past ESF scholarship recipient Luke Heagerty,

The aim of the ESF Scholarship Scheme is to enable fellowships and grants to be made to members of the Victorian Emergency Services to assist them to undertake advanced studies in Australia or overseas.

Both Geoff Ranzenhofer, Senior Station Officer at Greenvale, and Luke Heagerty, Manager Incident Management Systems, received the scholarship in 2018.

Geoff studied practical fire investigation training at sites in the United States and the UK. His research focused on fire investigation for room burns.

Travelling to the United States and UK, Luke explored how incident management takes place in collaboration with the private sector, completing a report as part of his 2018 scholarship.

ESF scholarships are granted annually and nominations for the 2020 scheme are now being accepted.

In line with the new ESF strategic direction priority will be given to applications that address issues surrounding mental health and wellbeing.

About four scholarships are awarded each year.
