This year's event from 6-7 May was co-organised by the Council of Europe Youth Department and the National Youth Service of Luxembourg (SNJ) under the auspices of the Luxembourgish Presidency of the Committee of Ministers.
On 6 May the opening ceremony took place in the presence of H.R.H. the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, with attendance from Claude Meisch, Minister of Education, Children and Youth of Luxembourg and Matjaž Gruden, Director for Democracy at the Council of Europe.
Through a series of workshops and discussions, more than 80 participants from 21 countries discussed the need for quality spaces developed with and for young people.
Since 2008 the Quality Label of the Council of Europe has been awarded to youth centres that fulfil standards of youth work and international cooperation. The European Platform Meeting for Quality Label Youth Centres is organised annually, with the aim of promoting collaboration among youth centres in Europe, sharing knowledge and exchanging best practices for promoting the Council of Europe values of human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
