From the Henselite Victorian Bowls Open, to Inline Hockey, AGL Loy Yang Traralgon Junior International tennis tournament and the Lions Australia Convention to name a few- Latrobe City Council proudly hosted a wide range of events across our facilities.

Hosting these events is made possible through funding from the Major Events Attraction Program. Events during the 2024 - 25 financial year attracted over 27,000 attendees, delivering strong local and regional engagement.

The combined economic impact generated totalled $23.5 million, demonstrating significant return on Council's strategic investment.

"Latrobe City has a growing reputation as a premier regional destination for hosting major events with tennis, basketball and lawn bowls proving incredibly successful and popular with our community," said the Mayor.

"We look forward to hosting more events in the 2025-26 financial year, with the return of the International Rose Garden Festival from 7 - 8 November and our much-loved South East Melbourne Phoenix returning on 10 December and 13 December 2025."

"Attracting major events strengthens our tourism economy, each event brings a surge of visitors that supports our accommodation, hospitality and tourism sectors, creating a ripple effect of growth that stimulates our economy."
