'Excellent' Milestone Reached At Evelyn Scott Preschool

The Evelyn Scott School preschool unit has been awarded an 'Excellent' rating by the Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority – the highest rating under the National Quality Framework and the first ACT public preschool to achieve this rating.

ACECQA is the independent national authority that assists governments in administering the National Quality Framework for children's education and care.

Reaching the 'Excellent' rating from ACECQA is a significant achievement that acknowledges the exceptional standard of early childhood education at the Evelyn Scott School preschool.

"This is a wonderful achievement for the team here at Evelyn Scott School," Minister for Education and Early Childhood Yvette Berry said.

"An 'Excellent' rating from ACECQA is not easy to achieve – it is a recognition of the hard work and innovative practice resulting in significant positive outcomes for children and their families, the local community and the broader sector."

Minister Berry said the preschool year was a crucial period during a child's development, preparing them for the transition to formal schooling, setting them up for success and laying the foundation for their future learning.

"We all know how important the early years are and I want to commend the preschool educators for their professionalism and commitment to delivering high-quality early learning," Minister Berry said.

"Congratulation to the preschool team and everyone at Evelyn Scott School who worked towards this outstanding achievement."
