Exposure Locations Testing Requirements Direction 20 July 2021, South Australia

The Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Exposure Locations Testing Requirements No 1) Direction 2021 commenced at 9.25pm 20 July 2021.

This Direction applies regardless of whether a person has received a notification from SA Health notifying them that they were at an exposure site.

Any additional exposure sites are listed on the SA Health website www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/wps/wcm/connect/public+content/sa+health+internet/conditions/infectious+diseases/covid-19/testing+and+tracing/contact+tracing

If you have been to the following sites you and your household must get tested and quarantine:

  • Adelaide – The Greek on Halifax -
    • Saturday 17 July 2021 between 6pm – 10pm

    • Saturday 17 July 2021 between 11am – 11.30am

The Direction prescribes the following requirements for people who have been to the exposure sites at the relevant times requiring a person to quarantine for 14 days and submit to COVID-19 testing:

  • Travel by the most direct practical route and means to their residential premises unless they are already at that location;
  • All identified people must reside and remain isolated and segregated from other people at the residential premises for a period of 14 days commencing the last day they attended the business or site (or the member of their household attended the business where relevant);
  • Ensure that they do not leave the designated residential premises unless:
    • for medical purposes, to obtain medical care or medical supplies
    • to receive a COVID-19 test;
    • in an emergency situation;
    • to receive the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination once permission has been obtained by an authorised officer;

      or otherwise specified by the State Coordinator, his delegate or an authorised officer.

  • Wear a mask when leaving the residential premises and only travel directly to/from the destination (e.g. testing site, vaccination site);
  • Take reasonable steps to ensure no other person enters the place unless another person usually resides at the premises, they are also isolating or they provide/receive care to/from the nominated person;
  • Follow all reasonable directions from a treating medical practitioner;
  • Submit to a COVID-19 test on day 1, 5 and 13 of this Direction being issued.

    Note- if the person has received a test in between the day of attending the site and before this direction was in place they are not required to obtain an additional day 1 test; and

  • Notify SA Health immediately if they develop any COVID-19 symptoms

If the person is advised by a medical practitioner that they have tested positive to COVID-19 they must remain in a health or other facility in accordance with the instruction provided until a medical practitioner certifies that the person is eligible for discharge.

If the person received a negative COVID-19 test result they must complete the specified 14 day self-quarantine period and continue to remain segregated from other people.

    • Sunday 18 July – 10.45am to 12.00pm
    • Saturday 17 July – 9.00am to 12.00pm
  • Additional exposure sites will be updated and listed on the SA Health website regularly (link below).

Any person present at the businesses at the times specified directly above is required to:

  • Have a COVID-19 test on day 1 (or as soon as possible after that day), 5 and 13, and otherwise when directed to do so by a person acting on behalf of SA Health or an authorised officer.
  • Must isolate until they receive a negative day 1 COVID-19 test result.
  • A person must submit to a COVID-19 test must not refuse or fail to comply with the reasonable requirement of this direction.
  • Notify SA Health immediately if they develop any COVID-19 symptoms.
