Expressions of interest now open for new taskforce

An exciting opportunity exists to join a new community task force, which is designed to empower women, girls, non-binary and diverse genders, to prevent family violence and achieve gender equality.

The Women and Girls Gender Equality Task Force will help ensure that the City of Casey's policies, programs and services address the barriers to gender equality, and ensure equal representation.

Expressions of interest (EOI) are now open and will close on Sunday 7 February at 5.00 pm.

Members will have the opportunity to work with like-minded people, participate in training and professional development activities and contribute to events such as International Women's Day and 16 Days of Activism to prevent gender-based violence.

Task force members will also have the unique chance to pilot a new gender audit tool to ensure safe and accessible public places for all.

Testing this new tool will give task force members the chance to influence the way Council designs public spaces in the future.

This task force is a subsequent action from Council's Gender Equality Action Plan and the State Government Gender Equality Act 2020 and demonstrates Council's commitment to strive for, and achieve gender equality.

If you would like to submit an expression of interest to join this group, visit Casey Conversations, our online engagement portal.
