Factory fire at Murray Bridge , SA

Fire fighters are still battling a large factory fire near the intersection of Lagoon Road and Mannum Road at Murray Bridge, according to SA Police.

The fire was first reported just before 7pm on Wednesday 3 January, with members of the public advising of a large amount of smoke coming from the local meat processing factory.

The fire has been contained to one large main building, but extensive damage has been caused to the premises in the blaze.

Fire Cause Investigators will be attending in the morning to examine the scene.

There have been no reported injuries.

Residents in the vicinity of the fire are advised to close all doors and windows and stay indoors until the smoke has passed. MFS and CFS crew will remain on scene throughout the night.

There are road closures in place including Lagoon Road and Nilpena Road, police are on scene directing traffic but are asking members of the public to please keep clear of the area.
