Fail to stop crash closes highway in Warrawee

Police are appealing for witnesses after a power pole was destroyed in a fail-to-stop crash in Sydney’s north.Just after midnight tomorrow, police were called to the northbound lanes of the Pacific Highway, Warrawee, near the intersection with Fox Valley Road, after a telegraph pole was severely damaged by a motor vehicle, NSW Police say.

As a result, the power lines were arcing on the roadway. Police closed the northbound lanes and established a contra-flow. All but one northbound lane have since been re-opened, with Ausgrid employees remaining on scene conducting repairs.Police from Kuring-Gai Local Area Command are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward. There is no description of the vehicle available, however police believe it was likely a heavy vehicle.Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
