A packed program of fun and engaging activities and events will help families across Greater Geelong learn, play and connect as part of this year's Children's Week celebrations.
Running from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, Children's Week is a national celebration that highlights the talents, skills and achievements of young people, while promoting their right to be seen and heard.
This year's theme recognises that children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practice their religion.
Across Geelong, more than 25 free and low-cost activities and events will be on offer for children aged zero to 12, including sports, music and dance, crafts, train rides, cultural experiences and playgroups.
As well as providing opportunities for children to learn and play, Children's Week festivities also give parents and caregivers the chance to connect and build relationships with local families and services.
From Ocean Grove, Armstrong Creek and Waurn Ponds, to Lara and Norlane, events are spread across the region to make it easy for families to participate no matter where they live.
The City supported this year's Children's Week program through its Children's Week Grants, providing $20,343 in funding to local organisations in 2026-27.

We're delighted to receive support from the City of Greater Geelong's Children's Week Grant.
Thanks to this funding, families in Lara and Geelong's North can enjoy a frightfully fun Halloween Dance Party packed with music, dancing, games, costumes and spooky surprises.
We can't wait to see witches, superheroes, and monsters all busting a move on the dance floor on Friday 30 October, 5pm at the Lara Community Centre.
