State school choirs from across Queensland will go head-to-head to be crowned the winner of Creative Generation Choral Fanfare 2025.
Ten choirs from regional and metropolitan schools have been announced as state finalists, after the biggest student participation to date.
A record 10,557 choristers, from 232 choirs across 142 state schools took part in a series of regional festivals this year, highlighting the outstanding quality and keen interest in music education.
Fanfare is an annual live performance festival for state schools which promotes and celebrates ensemble music, alternating each year between a choral and instrumental program.
Choral Fanfare provides an opportunity for choir students to grow their talent by receiving professional feedback and developing their skills while performing for live audiences.
The Choral Fanfare is one program delivered under the Crisafulli Government's $21.9 billion Education Budget which is laying the foundation for a world-class education for Queensland students, with more teachers, safer classrooms and 15 new schools.
Minister for Education and the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said Choral Fanfare was a great example of supporting Queensland's next generation of vocalists and musicians.
"Congratulations to all students and school staff from our 10 Choral Fanfare state finalists this year," Minister Langbroek said.
"With record rates of participation this year, the finalists should be extra proud of their achievement to make it to the stage at the Queensland Conservatorium.
"Programs like Choral Fanfare are inspiring the next generation of vocalists, musicians and performers for Queensland and the Crisafulli Government is proud to support it."
Centenary Heights State High School Principal Dan Lindenmayer said the entire school community was delighted their choir will be performing in Brisbane.
"To be selected to compete at the State Finals is true recognition of the hard work, talent and passion of Li'l Ensom," Mr Lindenmayer said.
Cairns State High School Principal Frank Brunetto said it was an extraordinary honour to perform among the finest vocal ensembles in the state.
