Farm Tank: new Shark Tank to inspire young farmers

In a farming quest to find the best of the best, AgForce has joined forces with Cultivate Farms for an exciting new Farm Tank showdown.

This quirky take on top TV show Shark Tank, will see hundreds of “next generation” farmers from enterprises across the state attend farm pitching conferences to inspire them to realise their dreams of farm ownership.

In November, eight of the best will pitch live at the AgForce Townsville AGM special event Farm Tank in front of a room full of investors, retiring farmers and farming champions.

With farm ownership out of reach for young farmers who aren’t inheriting the family farm, the initiative is designed to rejuvenate the agriculture industry.

Unfulfilled dreams are currently driving the next generation out of farming and into the cities, resulting in regional decline.

For years, Cultivate Farms has been helping farmers into ownership, delivering  farm pitching programs across the country.

Aspiring farm owners and expanding farmers are offered the tools, mentoring, support, network and motivation to create a business proposition and investment pitch to help them find the right farm and the right investor to succeed.

Farm Tank’s quest for the best begins with four two-day Farm Ownership Inspiration workshops in September, in Roma, Emerald, Charters Towers and Ingham.
