Farmers for Climate Action Elects New Chair

Farmers for Climate Action

The Farmers for Climate Action Board has elected long time board member Brett Hall as its new Chair, following the resignation of current Chair Charlie Prell.

Mr Prell has brought forward his planned departure from Farmers for Climate Action to enable the new Chair to play a key role in selecting the new CEO at Farmers for Climate Action.

"It has been an honour and a privilege to lead the wonderful group of human beings who are our Board of Directors. I thank them all for their dedication and support over the past three years," Mr Prell said.

"I also thank our former CEO Fiona Davis, who did a fantastic job and was brilliant to work with, along with the staff and all the many dedicated farmers and ag sector colleagues who drive our work."

New Chair Brett Hall thanked Mr Prell for his incredible work since Farmers for Climate Action's inception, and in particular in his role as Deputy Chair and then as Chair.

"With Charlie as Chair, Farmers for Climate Action has shown strong leadership in tackling climate change. From a meeting of 30 farmers in the Blue Mountains in 2015, to the 8,000-strong farmer movement it is today, Charlie has been there every step of the way," said Mr Hall.

"Charlie played a crucial role in uniting everyone with a common purpose and always had the ability to bring people together.

"The entire Board is extremely grateful to Charlie for the tireless work he has put in, both in front of and behind the scenes to support Farmers for Climate Action to get to where it is today."

"It's a real privilege for me to now Chair Farmers for Climate Action as it enters an exciting new phase, drawing from the stability and corporate knowledge on our Board and staff, but also embracing the new perspectives and strengths new leadership can bring."
