Fast-food staff threatened by man armed with knife

A search is underway for a man who robbed a fast-food restaurant at West Ryde this morning.

Police were called to the restaurant at the intersection of Marsden and Victoria roads about 1.20am (Thursday 9 July 2020), after staff were threatened by the man armed with a knife.

One staff member was grabbed around the neck by the man who demanded cash.

The man took cash from the till and he was last seen running north up Marsden Road.

The staff member was shaken but uninjured and alerted police.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Police have released a description of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries.

He's described as being 160cm to 170cm tall, between 25-30 years of age, average build, olive skin, and was wearing a grey hoodie over his head.
