Fatal ambulance crash at Virginia, SA

Police are investigating a fatal crash involving an ambulance at Virginia overnight, according to SA Police.

The ambulance, carrying two paramedics, a patient and a family member, was travelling south along Port Wakefield Road, Virginia when it rolled, about 2.45am on Tuesday 16 August.

Sadly, the female patient in the rear of the ambulance died at the scene.

All other injured parties were taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment.

Major Crash investigators are at the scene.

Southbound on Port Wakefield Road from Angle Vale Road is closed, diversions are in place. Speed restrictions apply for northbound traffic past the scene of the crash.
