Detectives are investigating following a fatal fire in Dandenong this morning.
Emergency services were called to an apartment building on McCrae Street following reports of the fire about 8.15am.
Sadly, a person was discovered deceased at the scene.
Police are yet to formally identify the deceased and will await results of forensic testing.
The exact circumstances surrounding the fire are yet to be determined.
A crime scene has been established and investigations remain ongoing.
