Fatal aviation incident at Bowenville, QLD

Police are currently on the scene of a fatal aircraft incident at Bowenville, Queensland Police say.

Around 10am police responded to reports a glider had crashed in a field off Mason Road.

It is believed two men, an instructor and student, were on-board at the time of the incident.

Initial information suggests the glider was coming in to land when it crashed into a field approximately 30 metres from the runway.

The instructor, a 62-year-old Darling Downs man and his student, a 60-year-old Jubilee Pocket man, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit remains on the scene and are currently assisting other agencies with the investigation.
