A person has died following a fatal building fire in Bowen today, April 30.
Emergency services were called to a fire at accommodation on Gordon Street around 3.30am this morning.
Initial information indicated the building was occupied at the time of the fire however everyone evacuated safely.
A crime scene was declared and investigations commenced.
Further searches of the property located a body and forensic examination is underway to identify the deceased.
Anyone who may have witnessed anything, or has dashcam or CCTV from the area, is urged to contact investigators.
