Fatal collision at Elizabeth Park, SA

A man has died in hospital after he was hit by a car at Elizabeth Park late last night, according to SA Police.

At 11.45pm on Saturday 17 September, police and emergency services responded to reports that a Ford SUV travelling south on Main North Road hit a pedestrian just south of the intersection of Ifould Road.

The pedestrian, a 20-year-old Elizabeth Park man, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital Hospital in a critical condition, but sadly died on Sunday evening.

The driver, a woman aged in her 40s, was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital but did not sustain serious injury.

Southbound traffic on Main North Road was closed for several hours while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene.

The man's death brings the State's road toll to 60 compared to 68 at the same time last year.
