Emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal head-on collision which has claimed the life of a woman at WR Creek, near Orbost, Victoria Police say.
It is understood a red sedan had been travelling east along the Princes Highway about 2.15pm when it collided head-on with a silver 4WD travelling in the opposite direction.
The female driver of the sedan, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The male driver of the 4WD and his female passenger were trapped for some time and are both being airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
Police are yet to establish the exact cause of the collision and the investigation is ongoing.
Road closures are currently in place along the Princes Highway, with eastbound traffic being diverted along Simpsons Creek Road and westbound traffic along Orbost-Buchan Road.
