An investigation is underway following the death of a man at Merrylands West yesterday, NSW Police say.
Just after 5pm (Thursday 12 July 2018), emergency services were called to the intersection of Sherwood Road and Paton streets, after a Toyota Hilux dual cab utility struck a man in a motorised wheelchair.
The 73-year-old man was taken to Westmead Hospital where he later died.
The driver, a 22-year-old man, was not injured and was taken to Westmead Hospital where he underwent mandatory testing.
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit, with the assistance of Cumberland Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
