Fatal crash - Orchard Hills, NSW

Two women, one of whom was heavily pregnant, have died and two men are in a critical condition following a multi-vehicle crash in Sydney’s west last tonight, NSW Police say.

About 7.40pm (Friday 28 September 2018), emergency services were called to the Northern Road, near Glenmore Parkway at Orchard Hills, after reports of a crash.

Police have been told a vehicle travelling south on the Northern Road collided with a vehicle travelling north.

The female driver and female rear passenger, who was heavily pregnant, died at the scene.

The crash also claimed the life of the pregnant woman’s unborn child.

The male front passenger was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The sole occupant and male driver of the southbound vehicle was trapped for a short time. He was extricated and taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Two other vehicles were also hit but no one was injured.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The road will be closed while it is examined by officers attached to the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
