Sadly, police can confirm a 16-year-old has died following a single vehicle crash in Devonport today.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene on Pardoe Road just before 1pm.
Five people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Sadly, one of those people, a 16-year-old, died at the scene.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, was taken to hospital in a critical condition. The other three occupants received non-life-threatening injuries.
Initial inquiries indicate the red Nissan dual cab Ute has left the roadway after failing to negotiate a sweeping right hand bend in the road, rolling several times before coming to rest on the roadside.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
