A 16-year-old boy has died during a dirt bike race at Banyo this afternoon.
Preliminary information suggests the boy was racing a dirt bike at a track on Raubers Road when his vehicle struck a fence around 1.45pm.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the collision.
Police are appealing for spectators at the event who were filming the race to come forward and supply vision to Forensic Crash Unit investigators.
