Fatal e-bike crash, Scarness

A 37-year-old man has died following a fatal e-bike crash that occurred at Scarness, in the Wide Bay area, this evening, November 5.

Initial investigations indicate around 6:40pm, the e-bike was travelling westbound on The Esplanade when it left the road and collided with a pole.

The rider, a 37-year-old Takura man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

Police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam vision in the area around the time of the incident to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
