Police and emergency services responded to a house fire on Strickland Crescent in Burnside this afternoon, Victoria Police say.
It is believed the fire started around midday, the cause at this stage is unknown.
A 37-year-old man, an occupant of the house, died at the scene.
The three other occupants of the house were taken to hospital as a precaution.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined and is being investigated.
