Fatal housefire - Carramar

One person has died and one person have been injured in a housefire in Sydney's south-west this morning.

Emergency services were called to River Avenue at Carramar about 7.15am (Tuesday 13 April 2021), and found a person outside a single-level villa suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.

A man was removed from inside the building by a staff member and another resident.

Officers from Fire & Rescue NSW and NSW Ambulance paramedics performed CPR; however, the man could not be revived.

Parts of River Avenue remain closed to traffic and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

The fire has been extinguished and once the site is declared safe, fire investigators and detectives from Fairfield City Police Area Command will begin their examination of the scene.
